Thanksgiving is this weekend here in Canada. Oh, how I miss stuffing myself with all of that yummy food! Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce and all of those veggie sides! Of course, after you unbutton your pants to make room for your tummy it is time to devour the deserts like pumpkin pie, apple pie, lemon meringue and that fruit filled jello thing someone brought! lol

In Canada, we celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday of October whereas in the USA, they celebrate Thanksgiving on the 3rd Thursday of November. Why do we celebrate the same holiday so far apart? Well, we are farther north so our harvest, and therefore our thanks is much earlier. But that is not the whole story. I found this article about it for you to read…

Why do Canadians and Americans celebrate Thanksgiving on different days?

So in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I am sharing this recipe for rolls, that look delicious by the way, as well as sharing some of my recipes that I always made for holidays!

This first one is something that I never made but I sure loved it when I sat at the table and saw them sitting there! Hertha’s Dill Peas!

I loved this one so much that I even ate it cold standing at the fridge! lol Broccoli, Cauliflower and Onion Deluxe

You are going to love this broccoli salad! I love the sweetness of the raisins and the slight bite of the red onion together. Broccoli Salad

Here is a desert that my Aunt Paul always makes! Pumpkin Bundt Cake With Home-made Caramel Sauce!

If you’re a cheese cake kind of family, my cheese cakes were the BEST! Cheesecake by Moi!

One more desert… This cake is very light and refreshing after a heavy meal. Hertha’s “Lemon Meringue Pie” Cake! Sooooo good!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! (err, the Canadians at least lol)
